Where is Petersham Common Woods?
The woodland is predominantly located in the area between Richmond Hill, Star and Garter Hill, and Petersham Road. It has a network of paths, creating delighful connections between Richmond Hill, Richmond Park, and Petersham Meadows and the Thames Path. It's just a stones throw from the Capital Ring pathway.
How do I get to the Common?
The Richmond-Kingston bus route serves the Common well. Take the 371 or 65, and get off at Richmond Hill/Richmond Hill Gate or Nightingale Lane, respectively. These will take you to the Richmond Gate or Petersham Gate entrances next to the Star & Garter (TW10 6BF).
To enter closer to Richmond Hill, use the Wick House entrance, opposite the Richmond Hill Hotel (TW10 6RW), and to enter from the other side, near Petersham Meadows and the Thames Path, use the entrance near the Rose of York pub (TW10 6UY).
